We are aware of the media coverage regarding some big supermarkets / processers who have announced they are to trial Bovaer in the cows diet to reduce methane produced by the animal. We have had several enquiries relating to this, so feel we need to clarify our position.
To confirm this is definitely NOT something we feed our herd. We have confirmed with our animal feed supplier and will NOT feed this to our cows at any point. We are an independent dairy farm and ALL our milk is sold on our farm via the vending machines. We are NOT supplying any other dairy so are not controlled by anyone, making our own decisions
We feed our cows the best, natural diet we can provide for them to keep them healthy maintaining high welfare standards. We use minimal medicines and antibiotics also and follow strict rules in relation to them. This in turn makes for happy cows producing the highest quality and best tasting milk.
