Proud to be dairy farming regeneratively.
I’ve had lots of questions today about what we feed our cows …. So, here’s what they eat:
Grass silage and maize silage - grown on the farm and preserved in the autumn so that we can feed it through the winter when they can’t graze because it’s too wet.
For a top up if energy they have some wheat and beans that are grown locally
We also feed a small amount of rapeseed meal - the bit that’s left over after they’ve made rapeseed oil.
Finally, a mineral that’s just like your mineral and vitamin tablets, because the girls work hard at the moment and I want them to be healthy and happy.
NOTHING ELSE! No methane inhibitors.
So, how do we reduce our carbon emissions? Well, by feeding them a high forage ration, by letting them graze for long seasons … by using the best, most responsibly grown feeds we can source, and by looking after our soil and the biodiversity on our farm. The bigger picture.
Phone me. Message me. Ask questions. Support us if it matters to you that you can connect with where your food comes from and how it is farmed! Milk and cheese and milkshakes available in our vending machine and I’m here to talk all things farming if anyone wants to!
Thank you! Thank you for being a farmer who aligns and works with nature rather than destroying it with chemicals and other additives. It really means a lot and I truly appreciate knowing that you're staying clear of the mass-psychosis that's currently infesting most food production everywhere and poisoning our foods. For my own little part, I support only farmers like yourselves and I never buy milk and meat from the supermarkets anymore. Not knowing what's in one's food - but knowing there's unwanted and dangerous additives in it - is not acceptable and it's not worth spending one's hard-earned money on. Keep doing what's right and I'll keep coming to you for my milk and food! 😊
